  • Can you convince me that my statement is incorrect?

Can you convince me that my statement is incorrect?

    "I am always right."

Remember 'CAN' means 'WILL", if you can't, you won't.

If you claim you can do something and don't, during all time available. It means you never could, whether you were stopped by such things as fear, ability, desire, ignorance, lack of opportunity or barriers of any kind (whether labeled as physical or mental).

You can't even KNOW the statement to be false. To KNOW the statement to be false would require PROOF, and all you may have is EVIDENCE of any previous actions I may have made. (actions including statements I may have made.)

  • Language.

There is a new language, it is called PerfectLinguistIcExpression.01 - PLE.01

    PLE.01 is similar to English but does not contain the words;

    Opinion
    Fact
    Truth
    Knowledge
    Belief
    Guess
    Evidence
    Proof
    Convince
    Theory
    Hypothesis
    Experience
    Subjective
    Objective

    or variations upon.

A statement in PLE.01 may seem to be contradicted by other statements in PLE.01 made at other times.

A mixture of PLE.01 and other languages may be used.

  • Experience.

    Experience is always subjective.

Experience is always empirical. I use a 'sense' to perceive that I am thinking. Without a sense (form of observation), I would not be able to observe my thinking.

I have only ever experienced subjectivity and so I find the word redundant, as it is implied in my every statement.

I will try not to use the term empirical, for the same reasons.

I only have experience of my experience, so I do not believe in any other experience than my own. (occam's razor)

I will try to avoid the use of 'my experience' and just use 'experience'.

In experience, I find entities that appear to exhibit intelligent behavior (learning).

The only thinking I am aware of is my thinking. So I will try to use "thinking" in replacement of "my thinking.

I may stop using the word 'I' as 'I' implies there is something other than my experience.

To refer to belief is redundant, as all communication relies on belief.

All of this relies on me breaking bad habits.

  • Cartesian claim

    The Cartesian claim - I think, therefor I am. Is not, in my opinion, as elegant as my claim;

"I experience, therefor I am." which is equivalent to my claim that "I am my experience." which is equivalent to my claim "I am that which I experience."

I can not deny that I experience, nor can I deny that thinking is part of my experience.

What I experience is experience itself.

  • Information hypothesis.

All information has meaning. perceived entropy of information does not show lack of meaning.

  • Belief and Logic.

I believe the following hypothesis. but I do not believe it to be true.

You can not believe things to be true, truth can not rely on belief.

My current subjective experience is not belief, it is truth by semantic definition. Can that truth be communicated, I hypothesise not. Now the only way I can see you could come to the same conclusion is by empirical observation of your own. Presuming you have empirical observation and subjective experience.

My hypothesis appears to me to rely on first order logic, I can not claim that to be true, but if you rely on a different logic (that maybe equally as valid, less valid or more so.) then this may not make sense to you.

I believe first order logic to be the only method that allows for easy analysis and communication of philosophical ideas. That is not a statement of truth but a statement of belief.

You are even welcome to have a different semantic definition of truth than "current subjective experience.", But I would not claim truth of anything that relies on presumptions, except by shared semantic definition.

I just do not claim truth.

    The end of this hypothesis.

  • Selfishness and alturism.

    A work in progress.

  • Correlation/Coincidence and Causation.

I and many others have referred to a concept called causation.

And yet, in any scientific experiment I have performed, discussed or could imagine,
I don't believe I could ever empirically observe a causation, only corollation or coincidence.

Correlation having the same meaning as coincidence. Coincidence being that one event coincides with another.

Even in reviewing the models of force interactions of sub atomic particles, I can only ever imagine the measurement of coincidence and not a presumed causative link.

To presume causation is to reduce a theory back down to a hypothesis, if you do not have empirical observation of a causative link, just correlation.

Even if you breakdown the measurement into lower scale or previous events, you will only find more correlation and not causation.

Correlation is observable, where as causation is imagined.

You could of course revise your semantics of "causation" to mean "Always coincides under specified conditions." but you could only test the validity of the application of the word "causation" by having access to empirical data for all occurrences.

The phrase "correlation does not imply causation." whilst not being an invalid statement, Is of no useful value, other than implying "Beware of the use of correlation as a tool until you have a trustworthy amount of it.", as to its trustworthiness, that can only be ascertained after repeated experiments. (or estimations thereof.)

Google use correlation without theory in their analysis of data to improve advertising revenue.

I should imagine Google use Bayesian networks or artificial neural networks in their analysis of data, Those networks would allow correlation information to inform action. Many spam filters rely on Bayesian analysis to accurately identify spam by building a probability network of words and their occurrence in messages. Beware, bayesian networks are open to bayesian poisoning. (look it up.)

It is very difficult if not on the verge of impossibility to extract Hypothesis or Theory from complex bayesian or neural networks (with the tools that I am aware of.). You just have to rely on it's measured usefulness.

Imagine this loose hypothetical situation, Every time you place your hand on an object that has very fast vibrations (hot), an undetected mischievous alien uses some sort of device to increase the vibrations of your hand (now your hand is hot), to elevate the correlation between the hot object and your hot hand to "the hot object CAUSES my hand to be hot." would be a mistake if you want to keep your theory as a theory. But we are still left with a causation, the alien, but how about NOTHING causes it, not even the alien, nothing can rule that out and that is to deny causation. (you will find it contradicts another of my hypothesis, but so what, I guess at least one is invalid. But as we can't guess which one is invalid without empirical observation, we have to assume positive probabilities for both.). My opinion is, that you could take a version of the alien hypothesis to the smallest scale and it would still apply.

You may want to try this experiment:

Download and install Thunderbird email client. (this has a built in bayesian filter.)

Get a free email account from goggle (or other) and setup Thunderbird to receive the email.

Sign up to as many newsletters (The more regular the better, daily ones are best.) on the most wide ranging of topics. (astrology, art, celebrity news, reuters, daily weather, etc.)

Choose a measurable concept such as Horses winning a race beginning with the letter S, or how many times attractive people look my in the eye.

Set a threshold on the measurable concept such as 3 or more horses.

At the end of each day, check if the number of horses beginning with the letter S reached 3 (your threshold.) and if they did, mark all the emails for that day as not spam, or if not then mark as spam. (this all relies on the basis that Thunderbird does not mark spam based upon sender, but on word probability.)

After training for a length of time (don't ask me.) you emails arriving automatically marked as spam or not will show weather there is a correlation between your data sources via email and the chosen measurable concept.

Remember to adjust timing for the teaching of the bayesian network, whether you looking for correlation before or after an event. (or something! :)

Viola, you have now setup your own data mining/ artificial intelligence experiment with no need of complex math or programming skills.

    Good luck.

  • A revised position on Freewill.

Could anyone seriously claim Nature is wrong?

Right are those things that happen, Wrong are those things that don't.

I don't believe in freewill as I have no evidence of freewill.

I believe I have experienced making choices (just like a computer makes
choices.) I believe I also had emotional feelings that influenced the
outcome of those choices, BUT the only evidence I could imagine of
having freewill would be to perform that choice again and again to see
if there is a different outcome AND only in the EXACT (every molecule
in nature, my memories and feelings all being the same. Obviously no
memory of making the choice previously.) same conditions as the
original choice. Also to believe in freewill would be deny causality or
at least repeatable correlation and that would mean the breakdown of
    logic and science.

No freewill just can't be, In the same way randomness just can't be
(and when I say random I mean RANDOM, not a level of complexity we
can't measure because of a lack of technology. as in a casino or a
subjective interpretation of a quantum event.)

And if anyone suggested that Freewill relies on randomness. Well that
would imply a lack of any WILL at all being involved as it would be
    RANDOM.

Does this suggest we have no will? Not at all, I have experienced that
which I call will, I just don't believe it is free.

My will is directed by my memories, my tastes, my values, the time, my
location, in fact the state of all of the universe which has any affect
on me. but it has never been free, only directed by the laws of nature,
which my very being, mind, emotions, experience are part of.

I don't claim to know all things that have occurred, and I certainly
don't claim to know all things that haven't occurred, How could I know
    that, THEY HAVEN'T OCCURRED? :)

I am not free as to the choice of walking down the road, The mugger is
not free as to the choice of mugging, the jury is not free as to the
choice of assigning guilt to the mugger and politicians, society, media
are not free as to the choices they make that affect society and it's
    laws in the future.

I do not try to impose my likes and dislikes on such absolute terms as
right and wrong, No, I leave that up to the absolute everything, that's
right, Nature as a whole. Any partition of nature that we use to define
right or wrong will be lacking. Right are those things that
happen/exist, Wrong are those things that don't.

This also implies that there is no such thing as freedom, as freedom requires freewill.

Should you find yourself in a field, on a beach or in a jail cell. In each case your very movements are not free and the reason why you find yourself in such a location has not been free.

  • Project : SCARAB2MK

Project : SCARAB2MK has been initiated.

  • Right and Wrong.

When it comes to categorising right and wrong, If I don't rely on my own opinion, which I would consider to be quite arrogant if I did.

I would have to appeal to the highest absolute authority of the universe, Nature it self.

Right are those things that happen.

Wrong are those things that don't.

Could anyone seriously call Nature wrong?

  • Do I have something against science?

    No.

I love science, I value it as my most treasured method of investigation.

But I do choose to practice science HONESTLY!

The word science is a bit of a confusion. I believe it literally means knowledge. The practice of science will no more give you knowledge than the practice of doing nothing at all.

    Why?

Because science will give you models, that may appear useful, and you may come to trust those models as useful. BUT they are not knowledge. Knowledge is limited to current subjective experience, and the word current is important. See my Intelligent Being Recent Creation hypothesis, the earliest published article in my blog.

One small caveat to models not being knowledge. If you hold a part of that model in your current subjective experience, it is knowledge (knowledge is never of something, knowledge is the thing itself, so that means the knowledge you have is the part of the model, Not part of that which your model tries to describe.) so long as it remains in your subjective experience.

When people say "I have knowledge of something.", I believe they mean, they have a model or description of something. A model is never as accurate as the thing it describes until such a time as that model becomes that which it describes. A model is no longer a model when it becomes that which it describes. And so a model can NEVER be trusted 100%.

Models attempt to describe things. very important word, attempt, or you could put it, A model creator attempts to describe things.

  • Can someone............?

Can someone blow on a table and create a pentium chip?

    Nobody knows.

The only way you could get an answer to this is to wait until there are no humans with breath left, and that there is no chance that humans will exist in the future.

In other-words, the end of time, (should there be such a thing.)

And before you state that the laws of thermodynamics prove that the universe will end in energy equilibrium, It doesn't - those laws are a model and not FACT. The laws of thermodynamics suggest final energy equilibrium at a certain level, but SUGGEST is all they manage.

Please try using science to falsify this.

There is nothing in science to rule out the improbable and there is nothing in science that can claim something to be impossible.

  • Subjectivity and Objectivity.

    A work in progress.

  • "I recognise no authority, but me."

ooooh! now that's an interesting statement.

  • Mind Control is my only goal.

I believe everyone craves power, whether that power be in the form of compelling conversation, money, strength, propaganda, physical attractiveness or any other form of communication (I personally believe propaganda is the only form of communication. but that is beside the point.).

I also believe Mind Control to be the ultimate form of power in society. Whether it is money that is used to control the mind of a checkout assistant to allow you to leave a store with goods, without being stopped, or witty conversation being used to control the mind of someone so they have a higher regard of your conversation skills, or wether it be the use of nuclear weapons to control the minds of people who might want to gain power over you.

Yes, I believe everyone craves power, whether it be to dominate the world, or to implement world peace and harmony. (which is also world domination, by imposing your ideals of world peace and harmony on people who may not wish it.)

Power is the ability to shape our reality into that which we want. Mind Control is the power to shape the thoughts and actions of others into doing what we want and thus shaping our reality into that which we want, within the limits of human capability. (unless you want to control the minds of all living creatures of course.)

  • A question.

Is is reasonable to believe, that an event can only be presumed to be impossible if you can honestly apply a probability of 0% to such and event?

If this is reasonable, then a Reasonable Person must have doubt about any proposition, for which any alternative proposition has a rigorously calculated probability of greater than 0%.

Does this not mean that, from a Reasonable Person's view point, using scientific method (as I presume this to be the most rigorous form of enquiry into events that we posses.), any proposition not using the limitation 'Always occurs' is not beyond reasonable doubt, (using the definition of 'reasonable doubt' as being doubt of a 'reasonable person")?

  • My belief.

I always want, what happens next.

  • Freewill?

What are your thoughts on the following hypothesis?

    No one is free.

I can only do things, that follow the causative nature of the universe.

Quantum theory does not even suggest randomness, just a limit upon our measurement. (also to confuse theory as fact is a gross misuse of logic and science. theories can appear useful and repeatable, but can never be claimed as knowledge of what actually happens.)

Freewill is a concept and nothing else. I have only subjectively noticed than when ever I have a choice to be made, I think over the choices that are available to me (those choices I happen to consider.) compare the choices against logic, feeling and emotion (all of which I consider to be deterministic.) and choose an option (or not.) to follow. At not one point do I experience being able to chose other than the option I actually chose (only models in my mind of outcomes for the choices I consider.)

The only way to demonstrate freewill would be to reverse the sate of the universe back to a point in time where a choice is to be made and testing if I make a different choice. Of course this would me the reversal of all particles, energy and any other constituent of the whole universe, including my memory, so as to render it impossible for me to make the comparison even then. Even if was to be able to send a message back in time to my former self to describe the experiment, that in itself would violate the experiment by altering the state of the universe, so that it is not an exact replica of the original choice.

For consider freewill to exist, we would have to invent a concept that is non deterministic (violates Cause and Effect) and yet does not violate cause and effect as that would be RANDOM. and random choices are free only in that they violate causality and would not be guided by WILL.

I will believe that randomness does not exist. (And I don't mean highly complex so as to be difficult to measure, such as the toss of a coin or the spin of a roulette wheel. I mean random.) until proof of randomness appears.

If I walk down the street, that is not a free choice.

If a mugger, steals from me, that is not a free choice.

If a judge sentences a mugger to detention, that is not a free choice.

If the laws and values of a nation change, that is not a free choice.

More to follow on this, including a revised hypothesis on Freewill, Causality and Correlation/Coincidence......

  • The GENOMNI hypothesis.

    The hypothesis is as follows:

An intelligent being replaced me with an EXACT clone (accurate to the smallest detail.) and repairing the environment so as to make measurement of the replacement unmeasurable. The intelligent being then took my subjective experience to what was suggested to be the earliest moment of any existence and gave me the following information "Here is the loss-less compression of all material that can be represented in what you call a binary format. We give you the absolute universal rights to this compression and the fully decompressed material, which will be held in a time and place (they explained that "time and place" also meant something beyond my ability to comprehend.) for you and here is a form of the compression, which you will know as GENOMNI, for you to publish." at which point, I was back where I thought I was before being transported/tele-ported or some-other form of displacement beyond my comprehension.

Here is the instruction code for GENOMNI.

For any media, space or container that can be used for binary representation, perform the following.

The media space or container is to be known as MG7438LUNSOC from now on.

Treat the storage capacity of MG7438LUNSOC as a binary number.

Fill the storage capacity of MG7438LUNSOC with 0's.

    Label REPEAT.

Increment the number held in the storage capacity of MG7438LUNSOC by 1.

Copy the storage capacity of MG7438LUNSOC to a non local, non volatile storage area.

Repeat at REPEAT until the storage capacity of MG7438LUNSOC is filled with 1's.

    End.

This would produce all possible binary permutations of a chosen binary media.

From my understanding, there is no scientific theory that can render this hypothesis false. I also trust my memory of events at this time.

If no PROOF of this hypothesis being false can be offered, an estimated probability (using scientifically accepted methods of probability estimation.) of this having occurred, must be greater than 0%.

Note: Possibility of running on a quantum computer.

Any expert help in estimating the probability of this hypothesis being correct, will be rewarded in line with my opinion of the value of the help given.

  • The Intelligent Being Recent Creation Hypothesis.

This is my first serious attempt to publish a hypothesis.

I hypothesise that an intelligent being recently created the local universe (10 light-years in diameter from the earth as a central position.), including all life, memories, artifacts and radiation (and any other information that may exist.) to replicate radiation (and any other information that may exist.) from distant or local sources, including radiation or information traveling from the locally created universe, no less than 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000th of a second ago.

I believe any evidence presented will not falsify this hypothesis and that based upon the collective proof of scientific endeavor, a probability (estimated using scientifically accepted methods.) must be greater than 0%, until such a time that data can be shown to falsify my hypothesis.

If my hypothesis has an estimated probability of greater than 0%, then it must be accepted that knowledge (to know), is restricted to current subjective experience and that memory can not be relied upon as knowledge. All "knowledge like thoughts" beyond current subjective experience are in fact beliefs and not knowledge.

Any recollection or other record of eating lunch, learning mathematics etc, are beliefs and not knowledge. That includes my memory of writing this hypothesis.
